Our Jr's have been busy in high school racing the Nor Cal MTB series and the master have been traveling through out nor cal getting their fill of racing.

April started off with a 4 man TTT and Scott, Jon, John and Rich were up against the Specialized boys plus a few other team and finish second.

The Nap crit was it usual crash fest with the P turn we came away unhurt with a couple in the top ten.

Santa Cruz Crit

In the E5 we had Sean and Eamon, the race ended up having a break and they missed it so with a lap to go Eamon attacked out of the pack and caught the break and took the win , Sean was 6th. In the M35 123 it was full on racing and Matt placed in the top 10 , what a race.

The Same weekend the CCCX MTB was back at it and Nico was 1st in the Expert and Scott C was 3rd and Courtney was 9th in the master races.

Also going on was the Nor Cal MTB races and Brian continued his good racing with another 1st.

The following weekend was Copperopolis RR and this race and the road conditions always make for a tough day of racing.

The M55 boys work hard( Dana, Manny and Scott) Scott placed 6th, the M45 crew Jon, Jan and James worked hard all race an finished 2 in the top ten. The M35 boys had there work cut out for them and Norm placed in the top ten as well. Wow what a day at the races.

Sea Otter weekend we had some of the boys race the crit and others play in the dirt. At the circuit E5 race Sean raced very well and made up on the podium for 3rd.

Courtney and Shannon raced the master crit and finished 13th and 16th

The cross country racing was hot and our jr's did very well racing in the expert field Nico was 10th and Tyler was 12th. Courtney raced the Master and was 16th.

The Wente RR and crit was a weekend of racing. In the Jr RR Eamon was solo and was able to sneak into the top ten. The M35 worked very hard and Norm pulled off a 6th with the hard work of team. In the M45 Rick was off in a break and placed 6th and James took the pack finish for 7th. Dana and Manny had a good workout with the M55 boys

The Wente crit tends to be a hectic race with road rash attached to it. Eamon again was solo with the Jr and just missed the podium and was 4th. The M35 was fast and furious and up until the last lap we were in position for the win. But a not so cool move by a rider that took out 7 rider in the sprint finish and took a couple of our boys down Norm just escaped and took 4th.

The M45 race was a little safer , we got Rich off in a break then all we had to do was work the front and cover attacks which we did Rich took 3rd and Bill was 8th.

Update from VOS - Cycles Gladiator

Some update as we close out March

Our Jr's have been busy in high school racing the Nor Cal MTB series and the master have been traveling through out nor cal getting their fill of racing.

Brian Dukes Steven Crowley and Tylor Giger are full speed ahead racing the Nor Call MTB series. Brian is currently in 1st place over all, we wish Brian all the best.

Ronde Van Brisbane

M35 123Rich was in position for a great finish but with one lap to go was taken down just after the tight 180 turn and limped home.

This was our first race with Bill on board so Shannon , Martin joined him and set him up for the finish , plan was to work the front and set him up for the finish. All was going well till 1 1/2 to go and he was rear ended in the 180 turn and taken down, so we quickly tried to get Shannon in position for the finish and were able to get him in the top 10.

Warnerville M45
A new RR on the calendar and closed roads for most of it so we had 7 of us do the drive and show support to the promoter. The weather was telling us that it was going to be a winding day and it was. We had a full field ( 50 ) and part of this course a couple miles were dirt and gravel with some pot holes. and this was 2/3 rd of the way into to race so it seemed if anything was going to split it up it would be here.

The usual team SJ, MS , Wells and a few other so we were off and we started from the start trying to get a break and finally we had Jon O off and a few riders tried to bridge but no luck so Jon was solo going into the dirt section and with the wind the riders were just trying to keep sheltered.
Going into the dirt MS just hammered the pace and blew apart the field so when we came out the back side we had 12 of us ( 3 VOS Rick, Jon and Martin ) MS had 5 and SJ had 2 so it looked to be between our three team. Jon kept hammer and finally was joined by Clark Foy and another rider and they stayed away for the top three, Rick and Martin rounded out the top ten with 5th and 7th.

Our MTB Jr's and Masters had a good day at the CCCX MTB Nico 1st, Tyler 2nd, Brian 3rd Scott 2nd , Courtney 9th

Weekend of racing

VOS - Cycles Gladiator did some traveling this weekend, we attended all the races through out NorCal.

Saturday 3-21-09

Let's start it off with the Orosi RR, Jon for M45 and Scott for the M55 this race tends to draw a small field but typical pure climbers go to test there legs.

Scott 1st
Jon 4th

Others went up to Sac for the weekend of crit and rr, first up was Landpark we started off with our Jr's
Eamon 6th
Sean 8th

Then came our geezers M45/M55 and Steve G first race back in awhile so testing the legs and working together was in order. The tt will likely be on Canada Rd, and the road race out there as well, climbing up to Canada College. A few local racers have already qualified, and had been urging me to do so as well. So I drove to Las Vegas on friday, got a cheap hotel, and raced both a short tt (5km) and a short rr (40km) on saturday morning, and drove back the afternoon. Top two finishers in each event qualify.

John Novitsky
TT 1st
RR 1st

Mt.
